The Leadership Circle Profile™ (LCP) is a 360-assessment that synthesizes a diverse body of scientific research about leadership, providing you with a detailed snapshot of how your behaviors and mindsets are enabling or constraining your leadership potential. With these insights, you gain greater leverage to make positive changes in how you lead.
The LCP takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete and is 134 multiple choice and open-ended questions.
The most important thing is to select individuals who you trust will give you honest and objective feedback. In traditional work environments, these individuals are often your current boss or bosses’ boss, your peers or colleagues, those who report to you, and/or customers/clients who you interact with regularly. Your raters may also include friends or acquaintances who understand your role and have witnessed your leadership style, individuals from volunteer projects you have led or collaborated on, or colleagues from previous leadership roles you’ve held.
Leadership Circle recommends 10-15 raters to ensure a robust dataset for your growth and development. We would suggest getting as close to that range as possible, although the primary criteria should be people you trust to give you honest feedback over trying to get the most amount of people. The minimum is five (5) raters.
First, think of those who you’ve had regular interactions within your new position even if it’s just one or two individuals—first impressions can provide great feedback for your growth and development.
Second, think about individuals from your previous role(s)—colleagues, peers, bosses, clients—who have interacted with you in the past 6-months to a year, as well as individuals who you’ve worked with where you took on a leadership role, and/or friends or acquaintances that have experienced your leadership style.
There are five rater categories (Boss, Bosses’ Boss, Direct Reports, Peers, Other) and you will need to select one for each individual. Boss and Bosses Boss refers to those who you report to and above in the organizational structure of your company. Direct Reports are those you lead and who report to you. Peers are those you work with both inside your company or externally; they are usually on a similar leadership level as you. Other is used for all those who don’t fit in the previous categories, such as friends, clients, customers, etc.
NOTE: Boss and Bosses Boss are the only categories where results will not be anonymous as there are usually only 1-2 of these individuals; for all other categories a minimum of three (3) individuals are required to use that category to ensure confidentiality.
