The future of business is community and the leaders of tomorrow understand that full engagement means a commitment to giving back. Each of us at Wisdom Works extends this commitment personally to non-profits, professional organizations, our communities, and to our fellow human beings around the world. Here are samples of our personal involvement and links so you may learn more and support these worthy causes. We hope this encourages you to add volunteerism into your life.
- ACI - Associated Consultants International is a cross-disciplinary association of organization development practitioners, providing mutual support, education, development, and certification. Nina is on the coordinating council for ACI, responsible for communications.
- Colorado Springs Science Center Project - Renee is on the founding committee of this group which shares a vision for a landmark science and technology center to inspire the inquisitive mind in all of us. Conceived as a 60,000 square foot energy-efficient structure near downtown Colorado Springs, the center will be home to a network of science professionals who interact with community members of all ages.
- Community Table - For almost ten years, Nina has been a regular volunteer at Community Table, providing warm meals to people in need. Guests include a diverse group of seniors struggling to remain in their homes, families finding it difficult to make ends meet, and those in search of their next meal. People in Boulder, Colorado have come to rely on Community Table as a safe, caring, dignified environment to find sustenance.
- Give Guide - The steering committee for this exciting new project includes WW's own Renee. The project's goal is to increase consciousness around local philanthropy in the Colorado Springs area. Often eclipsed by national non-profits, local citizens and organizations are breathing new life into the old axiom: "think globally, act locally."
- OUR Center - Mira has helped low income individuals and families with weekly food distributions through this Longmont, Colorado food bank.
- Rockrimmon Community Service Group - Melissa participates in this community group for service-oriented individuals in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Projects include park clean-ups, volunteering at food banks, and organizing blood drives.
- RSVP of Boulder County - Through this companionship service for seniors and adults with disabilities, Mira spent time matched with seniors who were unable to get out in public. They played cards together, ran errands, and regained a sense of comfort, independence, and security.
- YMCA of Boulder Valley - Nina has been on the board of directors for five years and currently chairs the Long Range Planning committee. This Y has been involved in several national pilot programs to support people's healthy routines and to engage local youths with a sense of connection to their community.
