Our Book

This powerful book by Renee Moorefield, Ph.D. and Julie Maloney addresses the needs of 21st century business leaders. As the book's foreword explains: "It is a critical time to talk about leadership. This is more than the evolution of a business model; the health of the planet hangs in the balance. The central question of Driven by Wellth is both simple and profound: How can success be achieved and sustained in a healthy manner?"

In today's world, corporations are affecting not only every aspect of our personal lives but also life itself at a planetary scale. In this new context, leadership must be thought of from a new value system able to embrace this higher level of complexity. Julie Maloney and Renee Moorefield in this wonderful book contribute generously to the birthing of this new thinking. They give us guidance to design new steps in the praxis of a new brand of leading. What a joy to read it!

Driven by Wellth offers great practical, healthy and spiritual abundance to those who have the wisdom to follow The 7 Essentialssm. It is critical that industrial leaders take advantage of this information to preserve the best of modern technology and the future of civilization. I highly recommend it!

Business, like no other sector in our society, has such transformative potential. Renee Moorefield and Julie Maloney write, beautifully, about what it means to create a community of people who can add value to the planet, or not. Their map to the future, for me, is incredibly compelling.

In the crowded field of books on leadership, Maloney and Moorefield stand out because they offer ideas, inspiration and practical tools for achieving results — an increasingly difficult challenge in today's rapidly changing and hectic world. After reading Driven by Wellth, leaders know better ways to navigate through the ambiguity of the future.

Maloney and Moorefield's book is so compelling, uplifting and provocative, it will change the way we think about leadership, and will force us to be more conscious and mindful about our choices and actions. Driven by Wellth offers a framework for making decisions — they call it The 7 Essentialssm — and it's a blend of science, philosophy, spirituality, wisdom and sound thinking. This book should be required reading for emerging and veteran leaders, alike.

Having first heard Renee Moorefield and Julie Maloney speak at the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability Conference in Colorado, I was immediately struck by their level of clarity, integrity and drive in the area of sustainable business. Their strength is in helping companies create an environment that is balanced, inspirational and motivating. Health is "Wellth" in my industry, and Wisdom Works and Driven by Wellth have both been instrumental in helping me define and clarify my goals so I can continue to create a healthy, sustainable and economically sound company I am proud of.

The boys were in bed, Tam was reading, and throughout the quiet evening of pondering wellth, I found a peaceful, reaffirming sense of what I knew I was doing right, with the anticipation of wanting to bring the tools outlined by the book to a particularly difficult design project. The book provides a wonderful, thoughtful, insightful guide to let me see me and those I work with, both co-workers and clients, in a way that can let me be a more thoughtful, insightful leader. Thinking through my next steps on the project, it is already headed in a better direction. What a gift to the world Driven by Wellth is. Thank you for your work.

Driven by Wellth is a must-read for anyone who is mindful about the way business practices should, can and must be conducted in today's global workplace. The ideas brought forth by Maloney and Moorefield are insightful, applicable and timely. As a CEO of a national organic foods restaurant company, I'm proud of the many socially responsible endeavors we endorse, and am grateful for this revolutionary book that serves up a why-do and how-to manual. Driven by Wellth will encourage all of us business leaders to continue on the path of authenticity and challenge us to simultaneously raise the bar, while heightening the awareness as to what constitutes sustainable success.
Lauren Bell, CEO and Founder, Wild Sage Foods, Inc., "Changing the World — One Bite Atta Time"

This is a book whose time has come! Driven by Wellth is essential reading for exploring the converging forces of social change that will impact business. It will benefit anyone who is interested in a more holistic approach to business based on satisfying the emotional, moral, psychological, humanitarian and intellectual needs of people — an approach that will attract and keep energized, high performing, creative workers. When we are able to break out of the narrow set of values that have become our ultimate ambition — inauthentic values by which "success" is currently defined — we will open a floodgate of wellth and possibility.
Joan Boykin, President, Boykin Consulting, Marketing & Public Relations and former Director of PR, Hain Celestial

New challenges bring new opportunities, and today's ever-changing world is ripe with possibility. But unless we are willing to let go of outdated ways of thinking and acting, we're likely to remain spectators as others capitalize on the promise of the future. Driven by Wellth brings together a critical set of tools and perspectives to help us create profoundly different ways of living, working and leading in a time of social, economic and ecological upheaval. By learning to value and create health and sustainability in all of our endeavors, we can become more effective leaders and better citizens of the world. Thank you, Julie and Renee, for pointing to a new path forward and providing us with such a handy map to follow!
